OAK PARK CEMETERY CLEANUP DAY AGUST 29,2020 9:00AM-6:30PM Address: 1420 Neshannock Blvd, New Castle, Pa. 16105 Access to meet up: Please use the entrance by the Manor(DO NOT PARK AT THE MANOR PLEASE).
Meet up time: 9:00AM-6:00PM (please be off the property by 7pm as stated on signs). This is a rain (as long as there is no lightning or high winds) or shine event. The only stoppage would be for a burial and we are to be advised of any are scheduled by August 26th. If there is a burial NO power equipment at all can be used during this time. Cleanup can be done in areas not adjacent to or i the area of the burial. There will me a brief meeting of everyone at 9:00am and designated areas handed out. Before we depart to the areas there will be a prayer given. This is an at will event and you may come and go as you please. If this is not for you once you start all we ask is you return to the tent area and advise so we know that area still needs work.
What is needed: Trucks to haul debris to the tree lines. Yard tools(rakes, push mowers, weed whackers, wheelbarrows, and chainsaws) please no digging tools. Household items: Trash bags, brooms, medium hard bristle scrub brushes, work gloves (absolutely no metal brushes of any kind) Personal gear and other: Advise to wear long pants Work gloves Sunscreen Nourishments Bug spray (for personalize not the air)
Disclaimer: This is an at will volunteer at your own risk. Damage to your belongings is your sole responsibility. You are right next to one of the most beautiful parts of New Castle and it is the woods. There are spiders, ground hogs, squirrels, deer and other wildlife. This is their territory as well and we are their. Can’t stop them but only advise of this.
UPDATE: We will meet at was is called the new side of the cemetery by the bridge. Easiest and best would be to take the entrance at the Veterans section. This is not where the manor. We are asking all yo park on the new side as well. Please park just off the road ways but respectfully not too far as some paid to rest are close to the roads.
